We make choices every day. Coffee? Sure. One? OK. Two. Even better.
What shirt should I wear? Should I brush my teeth? Umm... yes, you should.
Should I check my Twitter feed one more time? I don't know. How's your blood pressure?
According to Geddy Lee of Rush, "Even if choose not to decide, you still have made a choice."
Today, I made a choice. A choice to take life in a new direction. Twenty-nine years of the same path has served me very well, but the path changed recently. A tree doesn't move, and it weathers all the storms that nature throws at it, but sometimes we as humans are compelled to see what's on the other side of the fence, and this may be driven by circumstances out of our control.
I find choices and the change that follows to be extremely difficult and off-putting. If we go out to dinner, you chose. When the stakes get higher, the angst increases accordingly.
No bother. Time to move and adapt. Let's see where I go.
