I'm fortunate to live in a house where my wife and kids love to bake and cook. Baking though is the number one pastime.

Last Friday, Norah began the very difficult and time-consuming process of making croissants from scratch. There are so many ways the making of croissants can go wrong. Butter bleed. Dough temps wrong. Mishandling the dough. Baking temps or duration off. It's a real minefield, but Norah decided that she was ready to make it happen.

Last Saturday morning the croissants had their coming-out party, and they were off the charts good. I had a couple with Kerry Gold butter, and the third with homemade strawberry jam. Magnificent. The omelet that Shawn made included a medley of diced red, orange, and yellow peppers; tomatoes, and cheese.

What a breakfast!
